Overall Vision Originality Technique ImpactThis shares the sophisticated and subtle colour palette of a lot of your recent pictures from France -- they seem to work well together.
Character comes across well in the portrait and the composition and cropping are very successful, keeping the attention on the active areas of the eyes and mouth, so it feels quite lively. There's something about the whole image that suggests musicality and a warm depth of character. The hairs in the beard are nicely echoed in the pattern on the waistcoat. The background is soft and alive, with a complimentary green. It's an uplifting and warm image.
