I posted this image a few days ago and it seems to have had a major reaction for a lot of people.
So I think I should say a few words.

1. A couple of remarks were pretty damned nasty in that I was accused of putting this picture on d/a for Publicity's sake.
IF people do not take time to read what I wrote under the pic. then I surely would be worried about how much THEY see in the World around them.

2. It was pretty difficult for me to take this image. I was extremely upset (shaking) and full of rage.
To see people push her away from a doorway of a Bar and not even give her a glass of water was intolerable for me.

3. A very few comments were what I expected: The 'pull yourself up by your bootstraps' kind, usually used by the Right Wing in the USA.
    Where I lived for 20yrs.
I have travelled the World and live half the Year in Sri Lanka where there are a lot of poor and injured people on the Street.
Unless we start having a lot more compassion for people in dreadful circumstances we are in danger of losing our morality (which needs to be taught to us) this is not an instinct.

4. Mostly when I see these people I buy them a coffee or tea or give them some food. Genuinely I believe, we can all do this there is nothing to fear.

5. At present there are Wars, Famine and epidemics. Some of these people have NO families to look after them or Medical aid.
    What can we do?
NOT pass them in the street pretending they don't exist.
Help in a positive way which is  what I try to do.
    Even a smile helps?
Just please do not pretend they don't exist!
In this case a nice idea would have been to buy her some warm socks.
Assess the situation, talk to these people if you can (I have heard some incredible story's in my life). These people are not on the street because they want to be?
What you perceive as a 'drunk' person maybe suffering from a Mental disorder find out?

6. In all the times I have helped people only once was I afraid.
    It is not usual.

I do hope everyone who reads this and those loving people who commented already on this image will go out and HELP whoever they see.
Our Governments don't give a damn.

Love you all.
HUGS and xxxx's
Jenny
