Honestly, I’m not sure What to think Of these days of uncertainty As if uncertainty Was never a part of our living And dying Are we so much wiser Being able to see the unseeable Panic filling our hearts Pretending To stave off the inevitable Knowledge enough To hide like mice? We ask ourselves Is it enough to be alive While not living By what measure Will one consider Infinity Coming to that final conclusion That realization of consciousness That those things we can control Should never Control us?

Walking in the Neighborhood
I hear a lonesome whistle as an empty train rolls by
It's going to New Canaan under bright shiny sky
I see a black bird flying, moving easy and slow
I would fly like that bird, if I knew where to go
There's a sign on the corner, it says stop and nothing else
It will never say go, you got to go for yourself
These premises are monitored every hour of the day
The cameras catch the darkness but the darkness slips away
I hear the virus moaning everywhere in the land
And I hear the people singing as they try to make a stand
You know I have my mask on and it reminds me of you
My head is full of nonsense and a few things that are true
It's not going well on this planet
and if our ship had not been
so badly damaged when we
crash-landed here, I would
take you home right now.
Our engineer didn't survive
and it's a shame though
we know even she couldn't
get us into space again.
We still visit the site and see
the outlines of the ship
through everything growing up
around it. That hull will last
ten thousand years. We pass
for natives of the planet
and get along with them
reasonably well. We have
each other and we tell each other
that is enough and we mean
what we say. But I would
take you home if I could.

Drinks shared timely
Burning love is lost in time
Dances in wartime
Army moves fondly
Treasure trove across the seas
Silence falls truthful
Friendship without end
A true friend is lost in time
Hair flows silently
Leaf drifts in silence
Bird of prey reaches further
Lurking of the lake
Slumber of a wish
Gentle touch above the sky
Rewards of today
Eyes dart in the light
Setting sun commanding me
Blood spills, morning comes
Tedious autumn
Why a little, keen fox barks
because of the dog
How much more do I have to suffer?
This situation only gets rougher
But I played my part and they all went six feet under
I did this all to myself, so it's no wonder...
Why do I keep hurting myself like this?
Oh, I want to go back to when I was in utter bliss
I plunged myself into an inescapable abyss
Now I am doomed to be Lil Miss Apocalypse!
Though you may not alive to hear
I always held you dear
And now my pain and sadness is so severe
Oh, I wish I had all of y'all near
My eyes, my eyes cannot withstand all of this tears
And all your screams and pleadings still ring in my ears!
Hope keeps on fading, yet I am still waiting
For my darling
